Besides our great shops and restaurants, here are some of our favorite places downtown:

  • Chillicothe Farmers Market - For more than 25 years, shoppers at the Chillicothe Farmers Market have found local produce, plants, baked goods, jams and jellies, eggs and even crafts. Open Saturdays from 8 a.m. - Noon, May through October, rain or shine, the market also features live music, guided mural tours and outdoor grilling. Chillicothe is proud to be home to the largest and best quality Farmers Market in North Central Missouri.
  • Historic Mural Walking Tour - Downtown Chillicothe is home to 24 original, hand-painted works of art that adorn our buildings, making it stand out as a town rich in both history and culture. Make the murals a part of your next visit with a Downtown Mural Walking Tour and let the canvas of our community rekindle thoughts of simpler times of a bygone era.
  • Livingston County Library - Learn about the area's history, community, people and places. The library's website includes NetLibrary, a collection of 6,000 electronic books available to anyone’s home computer or mobile device. 2000 saw the opening of a new Children's Library at the corner of Washington and Polk Street, which was the site of the Walgreen's building.
  • Silver Moon Plaza – Main Street Chillicothe spearheaded the design and build of this exciting new open-air, multi-use space downtown that features fountains, benches and plenty of room for concerts, entertainment and cultural events. Come visit this new gathering space in the heart of our community. Silver Moon Plaza was strongly supported by the DREAM Initiative and received funding from the Missouri Development Finance Board. It is named for a product sold by Milbank Mills, one of Chillicothe’s oldest businesses. Contact Main Street Chillicothe to book Silver Moon Plaza for your own event or special occasion.
  • Cultural Corner Art Guild & Gallery - Cultural Corner Art Guild & Gallery was created in the spring of 2014 with the purpose of fostering and promoting the growth of art throughout an 11-county area in northern Missouri. Located in the Historic Downtown Commercial District in the heart of Chillicothe, Missouri, Cultural Corner Art Guild & Gallery boasts 5,000 square-feet of classroom, gallery and event space. Cultural Corner hosts a variety of classes, including painting, stained and fused glass, woodcarving, photography and drawing. With an approximately 2,500 square-foot gallery and event space, Cultural Corner can accommodate larger exhibits and events with seating up to 150 people.
