2023 Memory Tree Dedication & Lighting

MAIN STREET CHILLICOTHE’S MEMORY TREE DEDICATION & LIGHTING

Main Street Chillicothe hosted their 9th Annual Memory Tree Dedication & Lighting on Tuesday, December 5th at 5:30PM at Silver Moon Plaza. This tree is dedicated to our many loved ones who we will be missing this holiday season. The ornaments give us a chance to memorialize friends and family that have passed with a way to honor and remember them. The ceremony lasted approximately 45 minutes honoring 90 loved ones. Rev. Steve Pinnell, United Methodist Church associate pastor delivered our dedication with a warm message and prayer. Chillicothe Middle School & Chillicothe High School choir students sang three Christmas selections under the direction of Michele A. Phillips, Choir Director for Chillicothe R-2. Second Ward Councilman, Weston Baker and KCHI Radio GM, Patti Leatherman performed the reading of the names while Main Street Board member, Steve Franke rang a bell for each name. Committee volunteer, Jan Jackson and Board Member, Chuck Erke volunteered at the event and served free hot cocoa to attendees.

Ornaments will be hung on the Memory Tree and remain there until the tree is taken down in January 2024. At that time, we will arrange pickup of your ornaments at the Main Street office.
