✨Downtown Spotlight✨

If you’ve strolled through downtown Chillicothe lately, chances are you’ve admired the artistic work of Scott Rule. Not only is Scott a familiar face at Community Press, Inc , but he’s also one of the talents behind several murals that help bring our downtown to life. 🖌️🏙️

Did you know?
Before it was home to the Community Press, the building was once a roller skating rink! It still has its original wood floors and even had a small restaurant inside.

Unusual Talents or Interests:
When he’s not behind a camera or up in a lift painting, Scott and his wife are working on something truly magical—a 1:12 scale, three-level Santa castle dollhouse, complete with a train! 🏰🚂🎅 Once finished, it will be displayed during the holidays, and we can’t wait to see it. Curious about the process? His wife shares updates and behind-the-scenes peeks on Instagram! @mrsrulerules

What inspires you?
Scott does a lot of visual research and finds endless inspiration in other people's artwork—no matter the size, style, or medium. 🎨🧠 He loves to imagine what the artist was thinking while creating, and that curiosity keeps his own creativity flowing. One of his biggest inspirations? Walt Disney—a true visionary who turned imagination into reality. 🐭🌟

Favorite Downtown Mural:
We had to ask—what’s Scott’s favorite mural? While he’s understandably partial to the one on his own building 🏢, his favorite piece by fellow muralist Kelly is the vibrant mural on the Cultural Corner Art Guild & Gallery. 🎭🌈 While working high above the ground in a lift (he’s been up as high as 60 feet! 😲🚀), Scott enjoys soaking in the sights and sounds of Chillicothe. He says there’s nothing like watching the town go about its day while creating art that becomes part of its story. ❤️🎨
