Downtown Clean Up Day

Last Updated 5/29/2025

Chillicothe, MO — [April 17, 2025] — Main Street Chillicothe recently partnered with their student volunteer group, the Main-iacs, for a successful Downtown Clean-Up Day. The enthusiastic crew of local students and volunteers dedicated their time to sweeping around Silver Moon Plaza, picking up litter, and pulling weeds, all in an effort to keep the downtown district looking its best.

Their efforts didn’t stop at cleaning—volunteers also added a bit of seasonal flair by decorating the downtown flower boxes with oversized, decorative carrots. The whimsical touches bring a playful springtime vibe to the streetscape, delighting both locals and visitors. In addition, Easter eggs were hidden throughout the downtown area. Community members who find one are encouraged to snap a photo and tag @mainstreetchilli on social media.

Thanks to the hard work of the Main-iacs and volunteers, downtown Chillicothe is looking fresher and more festive than ever. Special recognition goes to Zoey Warren, Martin Moore, Alex Warren, Anya Moore, Issac Moore, and Debbie Clemens for their time and dedication to this community effort.

Main Street Chillicothe is proud to support youth engagement and leadership through the Main-iacs program. Events like the Downtown Clean-Up Day highlight the meaningful contributions young people make when given opportunities to get involved.
