Then and Now #26 - Crellin-Kline Building
πThe Crellin-Klien Building is located at 705 Webster Street ποΈ. Although the construction date is unclearπ°οΈ, it is likely it was in a similar timeframe as its neighbor, the First National Bank Building #1 π¦. The property was purchased by William E. Crellin in 1879 π, and he owned the property until 1923 π. During much of that period the building was a jewelry store π, then a tailorβs shop π§΅. It also served as the local hub for US Express around 1901 π¦, delivering packages around town π. Between then and the 1930s π°οΈ it was mostly a barber shop π though the upstairs also had a few separate uses such as a dentist's office π¦·. Since then, the building has seen a series of various different shops ποΈ and even a restaurant π½οΈ more recently. Today the building is occupied by Grounded for Life π±. The building itself shares a lot of the Italianate qualities ποΈ of its neighbor, though it expresses those qualities a bit differently π¨. Floral detailing πΈ is visible on the second story around the window πͺ and roofline π , giving the building a little charm of its own β¨.
