Downtown Spotlight
This week the spotlight is on Ean Leppin with 1059 The Wave!
If you’ve ever tuned into The Wave, chances are you’ve heard Ean’s voice bringing the station to life. Whether he’s on the air, behind the mic doing voice-over work, or hosting family movie nights, Ean keeps things fun, creative, and a little bit Batman-inspired.

Do you collect anything?
Oh yes—Ean is a huge Batman fan. His entire office is decked out with Batman gear. The obsession started back in 1989 when the first Michael Keaton Batman movie premiered. Ean desperately wanted to see it, but his parents said no. So instead, he turned to Batman comics—and the collection never stopped.

What do you do for fun?
Movies, movies, and more movies. Ean’s love of film comes from his mom, who always hosted movie nights when he was growing up. Now, he carries on the tradition with his own family. As a big Arnold Schwarzenegger fan, those classics are always in the mix—even the bad ones, he admits with a laugh.

What keeps you excited and motivated?
When Ean’s not on the radio, he’s behind a microphone doing voice-over work. From ad spots to quirky characters to narrating audiobooks, he does it all. What keeps him going is the thrill of landing a job—each one is different and brings something new to the table.

What is your favorite downtown mural?
Ean is pretty partial to the Wave mural. (For obvious reasons!)

What is the inspiration behind the name of your business?
The Wave Radio is a Christian radio station, and the name carries a deeper meaning. Just like how a wave refreshes and cleans the beach when it hits, Christ refreshes and renews people’s lives. That’s the message they wanted to share through the station.
